Rebate calculator: weigh a turnover rebate against the expected cost

A rebate is a small percentage of your turnover, the total of all valid bets, paid back whether you won or lost. A 0.5% rebate on RM 10,000 of turnover is RM 50. On a game with a 4% house edge, that same turnover has an expected cost of RM 400, so the net cost is still about RM 350.

Rebate rates by tier and game type

Rebate rates usually depend on your membership (VIP) tier and the game category: slots, live casino, sports or fishing games may each have a different rate, and some games may not qualify at all. Rates change over time, so this page does not list SlotKaki figures. Enter the rate shown in your account.

Terms such as tiers, rebates and cashback are defined in the glossary of VIP and rewards terms. The key difference: a rebate is calculated on turnover, while cashback is normally calculated on net losses.

Monthly turnover is not your deposit total

Turnover counts every bet, including bets placed with winnings. Because small wins get staked again, turnover can be many times your deposits. As an illustration, a RM 500 deposit played through on RM 1 slot spins can produce RM 5,000 or more in turnover.

The most accurate figure is the total stake in your account's transaction history for the month. If you are also clearing a bonus, the bonus turnover calculator shows how much betting is required.

Rebate against expected cost: the formulas

ResultFormula
Rebateturnover × rebate rate
Expected costturnover × house edge
Net expected costturnover × (house edge − rebate rate)
Share of the cost returnedrebate rate ÷ house edge

Worked example with RM 10,000 of turnover and a 0.5% rebate (an example rate):

Game (house edge)Expected costRebateNet costReturned
Baccarat Banker (1.06%)RM 106RM 50RM 5647.2%
European roulette (2.70%)RM 270RM 50RM 22018.5%
Slot, 96% RTP (4.00%)RM 400RM 50RM 35012.5%
American roulette (5.26%)RM 526RM 50RM 4769.5%

You can work out the edge of each game with the house edge calculator. In practice, low-edge games such as baccarat often get a smaller rebate rate or are excluded.

Why a rebate does not make play profitable

The rebate comes out of turnover, and every ringgit of turnover carries a house edge larger than the rebate rate. Playing more to earn a bigger rebate adds expected cost faster than it adds rebate. In the slot example above, each extra RM 1,000 of turnover earns RM 5 in rebate but costs RM 40 on average.

The calculator shows a warning if the rebate rate you enter equals or exceeds the house edge. That almost always means one of the figures is wrong, or that the game does not qualify for that rate. Think of a rebate as a small discount on the cost of entertainment, not as income.

  2. Whether void, drawn or hedged bets on both sides count towards turnover.
  3. The payment schedule: daily, weekly or monthly.
  4. Whether the rebate carries its own turnover requirement before withdrawal.

All of these are shown in the account and can change. If anything is unclear, ask customer support on live chat before you play.

Frequently asked questions

How is a casino rebate calculated?

A rebate is a percentage of your turnover, the total of valid bets over a period. RM 10,000 of turnover at a 0.5% rate gives a RM 50 rebate, whether you won or lost. The rate and the qualifying games are shown in your account.

What is the difference between a rebate and cashback?

A rebate is calculated on the total amount bet (turnover), so it is paid even when you win. Cashback is normally calculated on net losses over a period, so it is only paid when you lose. Both trim the expected cost slightly but never remove it.

Can a rebate cover gambling losses?

Only a small part of them. Rebate rates are usually far below the house edge. With a 0.5% rebate on a slot with a 4% edge, about 12.5% of the expected cost comes back and 87.5% remains the cost of playing.
